Who you’re agreeing with
“Spergs,” “we” and “us” mean Spergs, LLC, a Florida limited liability company. “Dingus” means the domain monitoring software, its dashboard, command-line tool and mobile app. “The site” means dingus.domains.
By using the site or Dingus you accept these terms and our privacy policy. If you don’t, please don’t use them.
What Dingus is
Dingus watches domains. On a schedule it asks public registries who holds each domain and when it expires, asks the parent zone where it’s delegated, and asks those nameservers whether they still answer — then reports when the answers change.
Dingus is pre-alpha. Today it runs for domains Spergs, LLC holds; there are no public accounts and nothing to buy. Features, behaviour and these terms will change as it grows.
Not a registrar
Dingus doesn’t register, renew, transfer or hold domain names, and it doesn’t take payment for them. Your domains stay with your registrar, under your registrar’s terms. Nothing Dingus shows you changes what you owe your registrar or when.
Alerts are not a guarantee
Dingus is a second pair of eyes, not a replacement for your registrar’s renewal notices or your own records. It can only report what registries and nameservers told it when it asked: a lookup can fail, a registry can publish something incomplete, and an alert can arrive late or not at all. Keep your renewal settings and contact details at your registrar up to date, and don’t rely on Dingus alone to keep a domain you care about.
Acceptable use
Please don’t use the site or Dingus to:
- Probe, scan or attempt to breach them in a way intended to interfere with normal operation. (Good-faith security research is welcome; see Reporting security issues below.)
- Run automated scrapers, bots or load generators at a rate that affects availability for anyone else.
- Suggest that Spergs has endorsed something it hasn’t, using our content or brand.
- Break any applicable law in your jurisdiction or ours.
Intellectual property
The text, design, illustrations and code of the site and of Dingus are © Spergs, LLC unless otherwise noted. The Dingus name, the Dingus Domains logo and mascot, and the Spergs name are trademarks of Spergs, LLC.
You may quote and link to public pages for journalism, commentary or reference. Please don’t republish material in a way that suggests it’s yours or that we’ve endorsed something we haven’t.
No warranty
The site and Dingus are provided “as is” and “as available.” We make no warranties, express or implied, about fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, uninterrupted availability, or that either will be free of errors. We try to keep them accurate; we don’t guarantee it.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Spergs, LLC and its officers, members and employees won’t be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages — including a domain that lapses, stops resolving, or is lost, and any loss of data, profits or goodwill — arising out of or in connection with the site or Dingus, even if we’ve been advised of the possibility. Some jurisdictions don’t allow these limitations; in those, our liability is limited to the greatest extent local law permits.
Reporting security issues
If you find a security issue in the site or in Dingus, please email security@spergs.com rather than posting it publicly. We’ll get back to you, and we won’t pursue legal action against good-faith security research that respects user data and gives us reasonable time to fix.
Changes to these terms
If we make material changes, we’ll update the date at the top of the page. Continued use of the site or Dingus after a change means you accept it.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute that can’t be resolved by emailing privacy@spergs.com will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Florida, and you consent to their personal jurisdiction.
